Conveyor Line Upgrade: From Danfoss VLT 5000 to Danfoss iC2
An upgrade to the drives on a conveyor line: replacing the previous Danfoss VLT 5000 inverters, now discontinued, with new Danfoss iC2 inverters. The project was designed to modernize the motor control system and support the continued development of the installation.
The photographs show the transition between the two generations of inverters within the existing electrical panels. Replacing the drives is the key element of this conveyor line upgrade, with the aim of simplifying future maintenance and addressing the challenges associated with discontinued components.
Teamwork to Upgrade a Bottling Line
Upgrading a bottling line starts with teamwork. In September, the Agortek team worked together on the replacement of machines and conveyors, focusing on on-site discussion and coordination throughout the project.
Replacing machines and transport systems means looking at the line as a whole: the available space, the connections between its different sections and the product flow. Collaboration among everyone involved is essential to address each stage of the work and integrate the new equipment into the plant layout.
A project that highlights the value of technical expertise, communication and teamwork: essential elements in upgrading production lines and meeting customer requirements.
Summer Holiday Greetings from Agortek
Agortek wishes all customers, collaborators and partners a wonderful summer holiday. A well-deserved break to recharge and return with new projects, new ideas and the same passion for industrial automation and tailor-made solutions for our customers.
Thank you for your trust and for the work shared over these past months. Happy holidays and have a great summer!
Conveyor Line Revamping with Siemens LOGO! PLC
A revamping of the control system for a conveyor line was carried out, replacing the previous control system with a new Siemens LOGO! PLC. The work was performed to simplify line management, upgrade the control system and make the electrical panel more organized and functional.
The first phase of the work involved the removal of electrical wiring that was no longer required and the removal of devices that were no longer in use. The new wiring was then installed, preparing the connections required for the new control logic and PLC integration.
Once the electrical work was completed, the Siemens LOGO! PLC was installed and programmed to manage the conveyor line. New photoelectric sensors were also added to detect the passage and presence of products and automatically control conveyor operation according to the line’s operating conditions.
Upon completion of the work, electrical and functional testing of the system was carried out, checking the connections, signals, control logic and correct operation of the installed devices. The system was then tested during production, confirming the correct operation of the new conveyor line control system under actual operating conditions.
Development of Systems for Production Data Collection and Processing
Systems dedicated to production data collection were developed to acquire, organize and process information from production lines and industrial plants. The aim is to provide clear and accessible data that can be used to monitor production performance and better analyze machine operation.
The developed systems can collect information such as counts, machine statuses, line speed, alarms, machine downtime, rejects and other parameters related to the production process. The data can then be processed to obtain summaries, statistics, comparisons and indicators useful for day-to-day production management.
Data processing can also be organized according to work shifts, allowing production performance to be analyzed by time slot, shift, machine or line. This approach helps identify anomalies, assess equipment performance and support faster, more targeted decision-making.
The development of data collection and processing systems is an important tool for improving production line monitoring, increasing the availability of information and making industrial process control more efficient.
Installation of Industrial Displays on Labeling Machines with IO-Link Communication
The installation of industrial displays was carried out on two labeling machines on the line, with the aim of making the main information related to machine status and production performance easier and quicker to view.
The displays were integrated with a communication system using an IO-Link master, connected to a Siemens PLC. This architecture makes it possible to collect and display machine-control data directly on the production line, including operating statuses, production messages, speed, counts, alarms and useful notifications for operators.
On one of the machines, two displays were installed and positioned to make messages more visible from different points along the line. This solution improves the speed at which information can be read, especially during production, inspection and intervention activities.
The upgrade improves monitoring of production line status, making information clearer for operators and simplifying the day-to-day management of the equipment. Immediate message display helps reduce intervention times, improve process control and make line supervision more efficient.
Replacement of Discontinued Inverters with New Units
A revamping of an existing electrical panel was carried out, replacing previous-generation Danfoss VLT inverters, which are now discontinued, with new Danfoss iC2 inverters. The work was performed to update the system with more recent components, improving reliability and simplifying future maintenance activities.
In addition to replacing the inverters, a dedicated terminal block was installed to make future maintenance, inspection and troubleshooting easier. The connections were reorganized with greater attention to cable routing, wiring separation and identification through wire numbering, overcoming the issues found in the previous wiring and making the panel clearer, easier to read and more functional.
The work included connecting the new drives, adapting the existing signals, checking the connections and reorganizing the wiring inside the panel. This setup helps reduce intervention times during inspections or maintenance and provides better traceability of the electrical connections.
Upon completion of the work, testing during production was carried out to verify the correct operation of the inverters, the controlled motors and the system during its normal operating cycle. Commissioning confirmed the correct integration of the new components and the reliable restoration of line control.
Installation of the Oven Electrical Panel on an Existing Line and Oven
The oven electrical panel was installed on an existing line, integrating the new system with equipment and an oven already in production. The work was designed to ensure compatibility with the existing setup, operational continuity and ease of management.
The work included machine-side wiring, motor connections, power distribution and integration of the panel with the oven’s command and control devices. Particular attention was paid to wiring organization, connection protection and ease of future maintenance.
The installation was completed with system commissioning, ensuring reliable operation of the oven within the existing line and improving overall operational control of the equipment.

Programming an Electrical Panel for Industrial Ovens with Inverters and Temperature Controllers
An electrical panel dedicated to the control of industrial ovens was built and programmed, with the aim of ensuring reliability, control accuracy and operational continuity. The system integrates inverters for motor-driven equipment and temperature controllers for accurate temperature control in the different oven zones, ensuring stable thermal process operation and effective adaptation to production requirements.
The panel was programmed with particular attention to ease of use, maintenance and clarity of operation. Immediate display of temperature parameters and main operating statuses allows quick system control, while the organized wiring layout facilitates servicing, inspections and future upgrades. A solution designed to provide precise control, process repeatability and greater efficiency in the management of industrial ovens.
Industrial Display Connected to PLC for Line Data Visualization
An industrial display was built and installed for immediate visualization of line data, designed to connect to multiple PLCs and configured according to application requirements. The system clearly displays the information considered most useful for operators and supervisors, such as counts, machine statuses, alarms, product codes, active formats and other process parameters.
The solution is designed to provide high integration flexibility: communication can use all protocols supported by the IO-Link master, making the display easy to integrate into both new and existing systems. This makes it possible to centralize the most important information directly on the production line, improving process control and reducing operator response times.
Vision System Installation: Quality and Safety Control for Glass Bottle Crates
A vision system dedicated to quality and safety control of crates containing glass bottles was installed and commissioned. The machine automatically checks for bottle and cap presence; it also verifies cap color and top marking, as well as the crate color and the integrity of the container, detecting crate damage even on the bottom. The system also identifies critical anomalies such as burst bottles and misaligned/tilted bottles, allowing non-conforming products to be rejected immediately and reducing the risk of rework, line stoppages and safety issues.
In this latest installation, 21 formats are managed: many use the same crate with different caps, ensuring reliable recognition even when product variants are present. The crates can be yellow, red, green, blue or black, while the caps can be fuchsia, blue, green, pink or olive green.
